Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a creative and inspiring dance Charity based in Woking. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and helping the organisation maintain strong financial controls as it continues to grow and develop its impact across local communities.

This role will be responsible for producing accurate management accounts, supporting programme and project budgeting, assisting with grant reporting requirements, and providing financial insight to budget holders and senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will help ensure the charity remains financially sustainable while supporting the delivery of its artistic, educational, and community engagement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
\n
• Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans across the organisation
\n
• Work closely with budget holders to monitor expenditure and provide financial advice and guidance
\n
• Assist with project, programme, and grant budgeting, ensuring funding requirements are accurately tracked and reported
\n
• Monitor income and expenditure, investigating variances and supporting corrective actions where required
\n
• Support cashflow forecasting and assist with maintaining financial sustainability
\n
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate financial records are maintained
\n
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and audit schedules
\n
• Managed a small transactional team of two staff members
\n
• Support the development and improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems
\n
• Ensure compliance with charity accounting regulations, funder requirements, and internal policies
\n
• Produce KPI and performance reports to support organisational decision-making
\n
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across finance, fundraising, and programme delivery teams
\n

Ideal Candidate Profile:

\n
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
\n
• Previous experience producing management accounts and financial reports
\n
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
\n
• Experience supporting non-finance stakeholders and budget holders
\n
• Excellent Excel and financial systems skills
\n
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
\n
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial colleagues
\n
• Proactive and collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
\n
• Previous experience within the charity, arts, cultural, education, or not-for-profit sectors would be advantageous
\n
• An interest in supporting the arts, community engagement, and charitable impact would be beneficial
\n

Location: Woking, Surrey (Hybrid Working Available)

Salary: £50,000 per annum + benefits

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: 3 days per week on site
