Help Shape the UKs Energy FutureLand Surveyor Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell CAs part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within theEnabling and Earthwork Section.What will you do?Working within the Enabling and Earthworks Section, this role is responsible for carrying out site surveys that support major construction and earthworks activities.Key responsibilitiesProduce survey deliverables to strict deadlines in accordance with the site programme.Carry out on site surveys.Collect survey field data, process, and issue to clients or stakeholders in the agreed formats.Ensure all site-specific tolerances are met in any survey related operations.Complete QA (Quality Assurance) records as required.Assist in the production of as-built drawings from survey data in survey specific software.Comply with hold point checks in accordance with the ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) procedure.Formally comprise and issue results to all relevant stakeholders.Ensure the safe and secure storage of all historical survey data relating to the project.Attend site briefings, site inductions and Toolbox Talks.Ensure that accurate site records of all survey related tasks are completed and maintained.Identify hazards and raise observation cardsSupport delivery of sustainability activitiesFollow site safety briefings, including the preparation of WPP (Work Package Plan), RA (Risk Assessment), and TBS (Task Briefing Sheets).Ensure the inventory of survey equipment and consumables are accurately maintained.What are we looking for?Knowledge & ExperienceEssentialExperience and knowledge of survey equipment and instrumentationExperience and knowledge of survey and CAD softwareKnowledge of design interpretation, including digital formats & 3D modelsExperience in geodetic requirements associated with project requirementsExperience using latest survey equipment, software, and technologiesExperience using GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)DesirableBasic understanding of design, construction, and surveying within a construction environmentExperience in settlement monitoring systems, methods, and technologiesExperience of survey specific software and processing applicationsHold a full driving licence (able to get to site)Qualifications & SkillsEssentialRelevant degree, diploma, or equivalent industry recognised qualificationHold a valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)Excellent problem solving abilitiesDesirableA technical Member of the CinstCES (working towards full member)What we will offer you?The CWA is a single delivery organisation made of up of the client (Sizewell C) and three parent companies - Balfour Beatty, Bouygues and Laing O'Rourke - which offer industry leading packages including market leading salaries, generous annual leave entitlements, pension scheme and other flexible benefits.About UsThe CWA celebrates the creativity and innovation that comes from a diverse workforce, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds especially those from under-represented communities.
