Job Description
A great opportunity has arisen for a welder / fabricator to join a leading manufacturing company who specialise in the power industry.
\nMain Duties
\n- \n
- To carry out all production operations in accordance with the company Health & Safety policy. Ensuring your personal safety and that of others working in your area; \n
- Fabricate and weld brackets, frame work and pipework using your own initiative and mostly without the convenience of a drawing; \n
- To read drawings and fabricate/weld parts associated with the drawing; \n
- Must be competent in the MMA (stick) and MIG welding processes; \n
- To use machinery associated with the manufacture of metal parts i.e. Guillotine, Brake press, Radial Arm Drill, hand tools, Oxygen/Acetylene cutting etc.; \n
- To ensure all work carried out is done to the highest standard; \n
- Ensure all quality control and customer specific documentation has been completed; \n
- Work to tight deadlines and show commitment to get the “job done”; \n
- Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team; \n
- Safeguard all Company assets; \n
- Treat all other employees and all our customers professionally and with respect; \n
- Always act in the best interests of any of the company, and not to carry out (or fail to carry out) any action that would bring the company into disrepute; \n
- Always work in a responsible manner to ensure safe working practices; \n
- Follow Health Safety Quality and Environmental guidelines provided by the company – currently ISO 9001:14001 and OHSAS 18001 procedures, including all future notifications; \n
- Proactively contribute to the company’s policy of continuous improvement. \n
Requirements to carry out the role
\n- \n
- GCSEs High school or equivalent (Desirable); \n
- Apprentice trained in Fabrication/Welding; \n
- City & Guilds certification in fabrication/Welding; \n
- Experience of reading & understanding fabrication drawings; \n
- Overhead crane slinging & lifting (not essential as Training will be given); \n
- Any Health & Safety certification associated with the engineering industry (Desirable). \n
