\nAre you a recent graduate looking to build your career in town planning with a respected multidisciplinary consultancy?
\nI'm currently working with a well-established property and planning consultancy in Cambridge that is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join its growing team.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio of planning projects, working alongside experienced planners and property professionals while developing towards a successful long-term career in the sector.
The role\nAs a Graduate Town Planner, you'll support the team across a broad range of planning instructions, gaining exposure to both strategic and development management work.
\nYour responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications. \n
- Supporting planning appraisals and research for development opportunities. \n
- Undertaking planning policy research and reviewing local planning documents. \n
- Assisting with the preparation of planning statements, reports and other written submissions. \n
- Liaising with local planning authorities, clients and other consultants. \n
- Supporting senior colleagues on a variety of residential, commercial and rural planning projects. \n
- Attending meetings, site visits and planning committees where appropriate. \n
- Building your knowledge of the planning system and developing your professional network. \n
We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic graduate who is keen to establish themselves within the planning profession.
\nYou'll ideally have:
\n- \n
- A degree in Town Planning, Planning & Development, Geography or a related discipline. \n
- A genuine interest in the built environment and UK planning system. \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Good research, analytical and organisational abilities. \n
- The confidence to work collaboratively while also managing your own workload. \n
- A positive, commercial and solutions-focused approach. \n
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous, given the potential for site visits. \n
Previous planning experience is beneficial but not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm to learn, willingness to take responsibility and ambition to develop your career.
