Accounts Manager – Worcester \n

We are recruiting an Accounts Manager on behalf of a highly respected and growing accountancy practice in Worcester.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant to manage a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses while delivering a mix of accounts, tax, and business advisory services.

\n

The position is ideal for an experienced Accounts Manager or an ambitious Assistant Manager looking to take the next step within a supportive and progressive firm.

The Role \n

As an Accounts Manager, you'll manage your own portfolio of clients, working closely with Partners and Directors to deliver exceptional client service while supporting the continued growth of the Business Services team.

Key responsibilities include:

\n

• Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
\n
• Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP
\n
• Reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
\n
• Overseeing management accounts, bookkeeping, and VAT returns
\n
• Leading client meetings and providing commercial business advice
\n
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
\n
• Identifying advisory opportunities and cross-selling additional services
\n
• Managing WIP, billing, and portfolio profitability
\n
• Supporting new client onboarding and fee proposals
\n
• Mentoring and developing junior team members
\n
• Ensuring work is delivered accurately and within deadlines
\n

About You \n

You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified with previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.

\n

You'll also have:

\n

\n
• Experience managing a client portfolio
\n
• Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts and business taxation
\n
• Experience reviewing accounts and tax work
\n
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
\n
• Commercial awareness with experience managing WIP and recoverability
\n
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
\n
• The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional client service
\n
