Job Description
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing goods, managing supplier relationships, and driving value across key spend areas. Alongside day-to-day purchasing and order management, the role will lead negotiations, supplier performance monitoring, and end-to-end procurement activities.

\nDescription
\nKey responsibilities include:
\n- \n
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier onboarding. \n
- Develop sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and deliver best value across cost, quality, and service. \n
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and mitigate supply chain risks through effective category management. \n
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure material availability, resolve supply issues, and support production requirements. \n
- Drive inventory optimisation through demand planning, stock analysis, and accurate ERP data management. \n
- Ensure compliance with quality, audit, health & safety, and procurement governance standards while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. \n
Profile
\nKey responsibilities include:
\n- \n
- 2+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing or regulated environment but not essential. \n
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience beneficial. \n
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to use Excel for reporting, data analysis, and decision-making. \n
- Effective communicator and negotiator with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders and suppliers. \n
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. \n
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred, with a collaborative approach and strong team-working skills. \n
Job Offer
\nOn offer to the candidate:

- Salary ranging from £38,000 to £45,000 (dependent on the level of experience) plus package. \n

- Hybrid working (3 days pw from Portsmouth office). \n
