This is an excellent opportunity to join a quality-focused production environment where your experience will be valued and you will have the support needed to develop further.You will operate power presses ranging from 20 to 250 tonnes, manufacture components to defined specifications and inspect your work throughout the production process.The RoleReporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will operate power presses and associated production machinery to manufacture high-quality components in line with engineering and customer requirements.Your responsibilities will include:\n

  • Operating power presses ranging from 20 to 250 tonnes
  • \n
  • Manufacturing components to engineering drawings and quality specifications
  • \n
  • Completing first-off and in-process inspections
  • \n
  • Using verniers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring equipment
  • \n
  • Ensuring components meet the required standards before progressing
  • \n
  • Monitoring machine performance throughout production
  • \n
  • Reporting machine faults and production issues promptly
  • \n
  • Working with Supervisors, Coordinators and Engineers to maximise efficiency
  • \n
  • Following production schedules and achieving daily output targets
  • \n
  • Completing production records and maintaining product traceability
  • \n
  • Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment
  • \n
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workplace in line with 5S
  • \n
  • Completing manual-handling duties when required
  • \n
  • Following all quality and Health & Safety procedures
  • \n
What We’re Looking ForTo be considered, you should have:\n
    \n
  • At least two years’ experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • \n
  • Previous experience operating power presses between 20 and 250 tonnes
  • \n
  • Experience inspecting manufactured components
  • \n
  • Confidence using verniers, micrometers and gauges
  • \n
  • A good understanding of manufacturing quality standards
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail
  • \n
  • Basic computer literacy
  • \n
  • The ability to work safely within a busy production environment
  • \n

Salary and Shift PatternThe training rate is £13.20 per hour, increasing to £14.07 per hour following successful completion of training.You will rotate weekly between:Morning Shift – 7.5% allowance\n

  • Monday to Thursday: 6:00am–2:00pm
  • \n
  • Friday: 6:00am–12:00pm
  • \n
Afternoon Shift – 20% allowance\n
    \n
  • Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm–10:00pm
  • \n
  • Friday: 12:00pm–6:00pm
  • \n
Based on the weekly rotation, total annual earnings are approximately:\n

  • £29,670 during training
  • \n
  • £31,625 once fully trained
  • \n
