Detailer (Draftsperson)GloucesterFull-Time | PermanentAbout the RoleWe are recruiting for a Detailer (Draftsperson) to join a growing engineering business specialising in the design, fabrication and installation of structural steelwork for a diverse range of infrastructure and industrial projects.Working as part of an experienced design team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabrication and installation drawings for structural steel projects, ensuring designs are practical, buildable and efficient to manufacture. You'll also manage bill of materials and collaborate closely with engineering, production, procurement, sales and project management teams to deliver projects on time.This is an excellent opportunity for either a graduate with relevant structural steel design experience or an experienced Detailer looking to further develop their career within a well-established engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed fabrication, manufacturing and installation drawings for structural steel projects.Create accurate 3D models using Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.Ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and suitable for fabrication and installation.Work closely with engineers to develop technical solutions and resolve design queries.Liaise with production, procurement, sales and project management teams throughout project delivery.Update drawings and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting programme deadlines.Ensure drawings comply with company standards and customer requirements.Essential RequirementsExperience using a 3D CAD package such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar .Experience producing engineering or fabrication drawings.Previous experience detailing or designing structural steelwork .Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.Strong communication and organisational skills.Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.Team player with excellent attention to detail.DesirableEngineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or Apprenticeship).Experience using Autodesk Inventor.Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.Previous experience within structural steel, telecoms, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.Projects You'll Be Working OnThe company designs, fabricates and installs bespoke steel structures across a variety of sectors, including:Telecommunications infrastructure (radio and radar towers)Steel screw pile systemsRail station platformsPipe support bridgesRail and highway maintenance platformsBespoke structural steelwork projectsWorking HoursMonday to Friday8:00am - 4:30pmHybrid working available following training:3 days office-based2 days working from homeWhat We OfferCompetitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 for graduate-level candidates.Salary up to £45,000 for experienced Detailers.Hybrid working arrangement.Opportunity to work on a wide variety of structural steel projects.Supportive and collaborative engineering team.Long-term career development and progression.Exposure to projects across telecoms, rail, highways and civil infrastructure.Stable, full-time permanent position within an established engineering business.Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.TPBN1_UKTJ
