Foreman (Traffic Management)

Our specialist in-house traffic management division provides expert advice and support across the industry, whilst assisting with our own, in-house contracts.As a Foreman, you will lead by example in delivering a zero-compromise approach to Safety and Quality. Install, maintain, and remove traffic management in line with Chapter 8 and approved drawings. Work safely, comply with regulations, and represent VolkerHighways professionally at all times.This Foreman position is based within the Traffic Management division, operating from our Brentwood depot.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver traffic management operations in line with NHSS 12 and Chapter 8 (12A/B & 12D)Supervise, support and mentor operatives and traineesEnsure all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to required standardsConduct site surveys and review/approve TM layouts where requiredMaintain and check TM equipment, reporting defects promptlyComplete all job records, permits, and required documentation accuratelyParticipate in call-out and weekend rotas, including emergency responseLiaise professionally with clients, stakeholders, and local authoritiesEnsure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental and permitting regulationsDeliver team briefings, inductions and ensure staff understand roles and risksBuild strong client relationships and support high levels of customer satisfactionReport near misses, monitor performance, and identify team training needsAbout youPrevious experience in traffic management operationsPrevious experience in highways maintenanceHolder of valid CSCS cardHolder of NHSS 12D M1-M6Holder of NHSS 12A/B ForemanHolder of full valid UK driving licenseHolder of valid First Aid at Work qualification (desirable)If your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every requirement of the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
