PCV Technician (Days) Parliament Street GarageThe Engineering Department are looking for a skilled and motivated PCV Technician to join the team based at Parliament Street Garage.About the RoleYou will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing our modern fleet of buses and company vehicles to the highest safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOur ideal candidate will have both electrical and mechanical knowledge in the HGV / PCV repair industry to enhance our current and proposed vehicle shift rota.You will:Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on PCVsDiagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faultsComplete vehicle inspections, MOT preparations, and safety checksEnsure all work is completed in accordance with DVSA and company standardsAccurately complete recordsWork efficiently to minimise vehicle downtimeMaintain a clean and safe working environmentRequirementsYou must possess:Qualified HGV/PCV Technician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred) with at least 3 years post qualifying experience ideally in a main dealer or PSV or HGV workshopIRTEC qualificationPrevious experience maintaining buses, coaches, HGVs, or commercial vehiclesStrong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsFull UK and PCV driving licenceExperience of Cummins and Scania drivetrain and electrical systemsExperience of modern CAN bus electrical systems and OEM diagnostic systemsYou will also be able to:Communicate effectively with colleagues, manufacturers and suppliersOperate as an efficient team member taking responsibility and ownership when requiredContinually develop knowledge and skills and mentor less experienced colleaguesHave a strong work ethic and understand the need to be reliable and flexibleWhats in it for you!Hours of Work - Monday to Friday role 07.00hrs to 15.00hrs with an early finish on Friday. 37hrs a weekRemuneration and benefits£19.87 per hour.
