Senior Passive Fire EstimatorHuntingdon, Cambridheshire£50,000 - £75,000 per annum + company vehicle/allowanceProGroup Recruitment is working exclusively with an established national fire safety contractor to recruit a commercially focused Passive Fire Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team.This is not a traditional desk-based estimating role.We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding projects from the outset and working closely with clients throughout the tender and quotation process. If you're someone who wants to influence projects rather than simply price bills of quantities, this could be the opportunity you're looking for.The business has invested heavily in technology, with its own AI-powered estimating platform completing much of the administrative work, allowing the estimating team to focus on what really adds value - commercial thinking, client engagement and winning work.Overview of the role:Working alongside the Head of Estimating, you'll take ownership of enquiries from initial client engagement through to final quotation.You'll spend time understanding project requirements, visiting sites where required, developing strong client relationships and producing commercially sound estimates across a variety of passive fire projects.Projects will typically include:Fire Door Installations & RemediationFire StoppingCompartmentation WorksSocial Housing Refurbishment ProgrammesPlanned Maintenance FrameworksThis role combines technical estimating with commercial awareness and customer engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys being involved throughout the pre-construction process.Key responsibilities:Prepare detailed quotations and cost estimates for passive fire projectsReview survey information and project specificationsEngage directly with clients throughout the tender processAttend client meetings and site visits where requiredDevelop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitabilityLiaise closely with operational teams to ensure estimates are commercially viable and deliverableSupport bid submissions across a range of framework and negotiated opportunitiesBuild long-term relationships with both existing and prospective clientsWhat we're looking for:We're interested in speaking with experienced estimators who understand that successful estimating is about more than producing numbers.You'll ideally have experience of:Passive fire estimating (fire doors, fire stopping and compartmentation)Client-facing estimating or pre-construction rolesSocial housing or refurbishment projectsReading drawings, specifications and survey informationCommercial negotiation and pricing strategySite visits and customer meetingsAdditional knowledge of wider construction packages such as drylining, AOVs or subcontract management would be advantageous but isn't essential.Salary:The business is flexible depending on experience.£50,000-£60,000 for an experienced passive fire estimator.Up to £75,000 for an established commercial estimator with an existing network, proven client relationships and the ability to generate opportunities.What's on offer:Hybrid working (office preferred with flexibility of 2- to 3-days per week from home for the right individual)Opportunity to join a well-established and growing national businessInvestment in innovative AI-driven estimating technologyStrong pipeline of secured workGenuine opportunity to influence the commercial success of the businessLong-term career progression within a growing groupTPBN1_UKTJ
