Accounts Trainee

\nThe Opportunity
\nAn established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Trainee to join its friendly, supportive team. Working with a varied SME client base across multiple sectors, you'll gain broad exposure to accounts, bookkeeping, payroll and tax, while developing valuable client-facing experience.
\nFollowing a structured training programme, you'll gradually take ownership of your own client portfolio and attend client meetings, making this an excellent opportunity for an ambitious AAT student looking to progress within practice.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Assist with preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio \n
- Provide bookkeeping services to SME clients \n
- Support payroll processing and tax compliance work \n
- Maintain and reconcile customer accounts \n
- Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries \n
- Assist with management and statutory accounts preparation \n
- Use accounting software to deliver high-quality client services \n
- Attend client meetings and help build long-term relationships \n
- Support senior team members with ad hoc accounting duties \n
About You
\nEssential
\n- \n
- Currently studying towards an AAT qualification \n
- Experience within an accountancy practice or end-to-end accounting experience in industry \n
- Exposure to SMEs and/or multiple profit & loss accounts \n
- Strong bookkeeping skills \n
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel \n
- Able to manage workload effectively and work collaboratively \n
- Comfortable dealing with clients face-to-face \n
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Experience using Sage, CCH Accounts Production or IRIS \n
- Payroll experience \n
- Exposure to personal or business tax work \n
