I am partnering again with a a leading UK distribution business who are looking to appoint an experienced Depot Manager to lead a key distribution operation in Devon.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a small but fast-paced, high-volume depot, leading warehouse and transport operations while developing a high-performing team. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service levels, driving operational performance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

\n

Working closely with the wider operations leadership team, you'll have full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the depot, ensuring safety, service and efficiency remain at the heart of everything you do.

\n

This role will develop into a more senior role as they are relocating operations to a brand new site in the next few months.

Key Responsibilities

    Lead the day-to-day operation of a busy warehouse and distribution site.

    • \n
  • \n

    Recruit, develop and manage a high-performing team of warehouse colleagues and drivers when the site moves

    • \n
  • \n

    Drive engagement through coaching, performance management and regular communication.

    • \n
  • \n

    Partner with HR on employee relations, reviews and disciplinary processes.

    • \n
  • \n

    Ensure operational procedures and company policies are consistently followed.

    • \n
  • \n

    Monitor warehouse and logistics performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

    • \n
  • \n

    Work closely with commercial teams to resolve customer service issues and deliver exceptional service.

    • \n
  • \n

    Maintain excellent stock accuracy and inventory control in partnership with stock management teams.

    • \n
  • \n

    Champion health & safety, ensuring full compliance across the site.

    • \n
  • \n

    Maintain high housekeeping standards and site security.

    • \n

About You

    Proven experience managing a busy warehouse, logistics or distribution operation.

    • \n
  • \n

    Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop teams.

    • \n
  • \n

    Experience managing warehouse operatives and drivers within a fast-paced environment.

    • \n
  • \n

    Commercially minded with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement.

    • \n
  • \n

    Strong understanding of health & safety, compliance and stock control.

    • \n
  • \n

    A proactive, hands-on management style with excellent communication skills.

    • \n
