Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join a well-established organisation and play a key role in delivering strategic procurement activities across a diverse portfolio of direct spend categories.

This position offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end procurement projects, support key business stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and drive commercial value through effective sourcing, contract management, and supply chain optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle for a range of direct procurement projects, from sourcing strategy through to contract award and implementation.
  • \n
  • Deliver compliant tendering activities and competitive procurement exercises in line with applicable procurement regulations and internal governance requirements.
  • \n
  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, extensions, and commercial discussions to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.
  • \n
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies in partnership with operational and business stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with contract managers and budget holders to establish procurement pipelines and identify future sourcing opportunities.
  • \n
  • Provide expert advice on procurement processes, commercial considerations, business cases, and governance requirements.
  • \n
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contractual terms, including amendments to both standard and bespoke agreements.
  • \n
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, establish service specifications, and develop meaningful supplier performance measures and KPIs.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships across the business to ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout procurement projects.
  • \n
  • Conduct market analysis and supplier research to identify opportunities for innovation, value creation, and improved supplier performance.
  • \n
  • Support supplier relationship management activities and contribute to ongoing contract performance improvement.
  • \n
  • Promote sustainable procurement practices, social value initiatives, and environmental objectives throughout sourcing activities.
  • \n
  • Work with finance teams to validate budgets, approvals, and investment requirements for procurement projects.
  • \n
  • Contribute to wider procurement initiatives, including collaborative sourcing projects, supply chain improvement programmes, and best practice development.

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement and tendering activities.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of public sector or regulated procurement environments and relevant procurement legislation.
  • \n
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with standard contract forms such as NEC, JCT, or similar frameworks.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and project management capabilities.
  • \n
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
