Reed is recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation within the engineering sector for a Sales Administrator to join their on-site team in County Durham. This position offers the opportunity to work within a fast-paced commercial environment, supporting business operations and contributing to the smooth coordination of customer and sales activity. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining strong internal and external relationships while ensuring high standards of accuracy and service delivery. The organisation is seeking an individual who can demonstrate professionalism, strong organisational ability, effective communication and a commercially aware approach. What you’ll be doing

  • Provide administrative support to the sales team, ensuring customer orders, quotations and related documentation are processed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • \n
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, suppliers and internal departments to provide updates, resolve queries and support a high level of customer service.
  • \n
  • Prepare and manage sales records, reports and data using internal systems, ensuring information is accurate and up to date at all times.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with internal teams to monitor order progress and assist with delivery scheduling and customer expectations.
  • \n
  • Support general office administration activities, including filing, document control and responding to incoming telephone and email enquiries professionally.

Who we’re looking for

  • Previous experience within a sales administration, customer service or commercial support position, ideally within engineering or manufacturing.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and with external contacts.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively in a busy office environment.
  • \n
  • Good commercial awareness with an understanding of the importance of accuracy, customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • \n
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications and internal business or CRM systems.
