Our client is seeking an ambitious Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its highly regarded Private Wealth Disputes team in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with 4+ years' PQE to handle a high-quality caseload of complex inheritance and trust disputes while benefiting from genuine career progression, hybrid working and a supportive team environment.

This role is ideal for a solicitor looking to specialise further in contentious probate, inheritance disputes, trust litigation and will disputes, working alongside recognised experts on behalf of high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, charities and trustees.

The Role

\n

You will manage your own varied caseload while supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters including:

    \n
  • Inheritance Act 1975 claims
  • \n
  • Will validity disputes
  • \n
  • Proprietary estoppel claims
  • \n
  • Executor and trustee disputes
  • \n
  • Beneficiary disputes
  • \n
  • Trust litigation
  • \n
  • Estate administration disputes
  • \n
  • Court of Protection-related disputes where appropriate
  • \n
  • Mediation, ADR and High Court litigation
  • \n
\n

You will have regular client contact, represent clients throughout the litigation process and play an active role in developing long-term client relationships.

About You

\n

To be considered, you will ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years' PQE
  • \n
  • Strong experience in Contentious Probate, Trusts Litigation or Commercial Litigation with significant probate work
  • \n
  • Experience advising on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
  • \n
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • \n
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
  • \n
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within Private Wealth Disputes
  • \n
