These roles offer the chance to deliver mental health and primary care within a secure environment, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the wellbeing of the prison population. Full induction, security clearance support and ongoing training provided for those not yet cleared.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver mental health nursing care/clinics within a secure prison healthcare settingUndertake reception health screening, triage and ongoing mental health assessments(NMP roles) Independent prescribing and medicines management within scope of practiceManage mental health presentations, substance misuse and dual diagnosis needsWork collaboratively with prison staff, GPs, psychiatry and the wider MDTMaintain accurate clinical records in line with NMC and information governance standardsRespond to clinical emergencies and manage risk within a custodial environmentEssential RequirementsRegistered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registrationFor NMP roles: V300 Independent Prescriber qualificationExperience in mental health, substance misuse or offender health nursingEnhanced DBS clearance; existing prison security clearance desirableStrong communication, resilience and risk-management skillsRight to work in the UKTPBN1_UKTJ
