On shift, youll provide assistance with daily tasks including minimal personal care, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, helping her put on shoes and a coat, and providing general support to help her live independently. Our client lives in her family home, so it is essential that you can respect boundaries when in a working environment.Whats the Role?I have a physical disability and need someone around for help now and again and to be on stand-by to keep me safe. My disability means I cant walk and use an electric wheelchair to get around. Because my disability is purely physical, I can easily explain what I need help with and when; therefore, no previous care experience is required.Im looking for someone who is easy-going and reliable to help me with daily living. On shift, this could include helping me cook, doing laundry, cleaning, walking my dog together and helping me put on shoes and a coat. This job has lots of down-time and so would suit someone able to occupy themselves. Many of my previous PAs have completed online qualifications and training or even studied for their degree whilst working. This job can also sometimes be extremely busy. On occasion, you may accompany me on trips away, when out and about around town, or to hospital appointments in locally and in London. I also travel regularly with my job or to see friends, so you will be required to attend with me. My days vary so a can-do attitude is very important.I also have a wheelchair adapted vehicle (automatic) that I can drive myself.
