Job Description

Equipment and Facilities Engineer

\n

\n

Are you a hands-on engineer who takes pride in keeping critical plant and equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently? Our client, a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer producing life-improving medicines, is looking for an Equipment and Facilities Engineer to join their engineering team.

\n

This is a great opportunity for a maintenance-minded engineer to take real ownership of equipment reliability, safety and compliance on a site where the work genuinely matters.

\n

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll maintain, repair and continuously improve the plant and equipment that keeps this manufacturing site operating safely and efficiently, making sure everything runs within specification and every colleague on site stays safe.

\n

\n

What You'll Be Doing

\n
    \n
  • Carrying out scheduled maintenance to prevent failures and maximise equipment reliability
  • \n
  • Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns quickly, getting to the root cause so problems don't come back
  • \n
  • Running regular inspections across equipment and site utilities
  • \n
  • Feeding back on maintenance procedures and suggesting improvements
  • \n
  • Enforcing safety regulations and completing risk assessments for maintenance work
  • \n
  • Keeping accurate maintenance and compliance documentation
  • \n
  • Managing spares inventory to minimise downtime
  • \n
  • Supervising and quality-checking external contractors
  • \n
  • Supporting the site's ISO 14001 environmental commitments
  • \n
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a strong team culture
  • \n
\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n
    \n
  • Solid experience maintaining industrial plant, equipment or facilities - ideally in a regulated manufacturing environment
  • \n
  • A methodical, safety-first approach and genuine pride in a job well done
  • \n
  • Strong problem-solving skills - you get to the "why", not just the "what"
  • \n
  • Confidence supervising contractors and managing your own workload
  • \n
  • A clear communicator who isn't afraid to speak up on safety or quality
  • \n
  • Someone who leads by example and enjoys helping less experienced engineers develop
  • \n
\n

\n

Why Apply

\n
    \n
  • Join a business that manufactures products which genuinely improve people's lives
  • \n
  • Real ownership of equipment reliability and site safety - not just ticking boxes
  • \n
  • A collaborative, values-led culture built on integrity, respect and continuous improvement
  • \n
