HR Advisor (Employee Relations)

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Full-Time | Hybrid Working

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join a collaborative HR team, providing expert employee relations support across a diverse organisation.

\n

The successful candidate will deliver professional, pragmatic advice to managers on a wide range of people matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, organisational policies and best practice. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys managing a varied caseload and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

\n
    \n
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters.
  • \n
  • Manage a varied caseload including disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence, capability, performance, probation, flexible working and dignity at work cases.
  • \n
  • Support and coach managers through formal HR processes, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
  • \n
  • Conduct and support workplace investigations, preparing reports and recommendations where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Attend formal meetings and hearings, providing procedural guidance and support.
  • \n
  • Draft HR correspondence including investigation invitations, outcome letters, warnings and appeal documentation.
  • \n
  • Support informal resolution of workplace issues and conflict where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Advise on employment legislation and the practical application of HR policies and procedures.
  • \n
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployment and redundancy processes.
  • \n
  • Assist with employment tribunal preparation and liaise with external legal advisers when required.
  • \n
  • Analyse employee relations trends and contribute to the development of policies, procedures and manager guidance materials.
  • \n
  • Support wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in line with data protection requirements.

About You

\n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
    \n
  • CIPD qualification, part qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice.
  • \n
  • Proven experience managing a broad employee relations caseload.
  • \n
  • Experience advising managers on disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence management issues.
  • \n
  • Experience conducting or supporting workplace investigations.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • Strong report writing and letter drafting abilities.
  • \n
  • The ability to interpret legislation and apply policy pragmatically.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • \n
  • A professional, resilient and solutions-focused approach.
  • \n
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
  • \n
