  • Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (1 day a week remote)

  • Working hours: Mainly Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover

We are seeking a Tour Operations Team Leader to oversee and develop our clients team of Tour Operations Executives. This role is crucial for ensuring that 2,500+ tours and 380 Tour Managers operate smoothly, providing exceptional customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in travel or a comparable sector such as operational logistics.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead a team of 5 Tour Operations Executives, fostering a high-performing, customer-focused team culture.
  • \n
  • Oversee the execution of tour logistics, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • \n
  • Manage operational disruptions effectively, supporting decision-making and coordinating communication to minimise customer and commercial impacts.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvements in operational performance and efficiency.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure service reliability.
  • \n
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide leadership and support outside normal business hours. (4-5 times a year).
  • \n
  • Monitor and analyse operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • \n
  • Implement strategic changes to enhance operational procedures and customer satisfaction.
  • \n
  • Regularly review team performance and provide feedback, 1-1s and coaching to ensure high standards.
  • \n
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline operations and enhance the overall tour experience.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a team leader, not suitable for those taking their first step in managing teams.
  • \n
  • Background in travel or comparable sectors like operational logistics.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage high-pressure situations.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Proficient in using digital tools and maintaining accurate data.
  • \n
  • Flexible with working hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.
  • \n
