Permanent | Full-time | 40 hours per week

Are you practical, technically minded and experienced in electrical or electronic assembly?

\n

We’re looking for a Production Technician to join an established specialist manufacturer in Wellington. You’ll be building, assembling, testing and repairing high-voltage electrical test equipment while working from engineering drawings, technical instructions and detailed production documentation.

\n

This would suit someone with electrical manufacturing experience who enjoys hands-on, detailed work and takes pride in producing equipment to a consistently high standard.

What you’ll be doing

\n
    \n
  • Manufacturing, assembling and testing electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • \n
  • Soldering electrical control boards and wiring harnesses
  • \n
  • Building and crimping complex wiring harnesses
  • \n
  • Calibrating and testing electrical systems and equipment
  • \n
  • Fault-finding and repairing electrical and associated systems
  • \n
  • Working from engineering drawings, work instructions and technical data packs
  • \n
  • Completing production job cards and quality documentation accurately
  • \n
  • Checking that tools and equipment remain within their calibration dates
  • \n
  • Maintaining workshop tools and reporting faults or failures
  • \n
  • Following company production, quality and safety procedures
  • \n
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
  • \n
  • Wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment
  • \n
  • Supporting the wider production team as required
  • \n

What we’re looking for

\n

You’ll ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in electrical engineering or manufacturing, or have equivalent time-served experience.

\n

You’ll also need:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within electronics or electrical manufacturing
  • \n
  • Experience assembling and crimping wiring harnesses
  • \n
  • Soldering experience
  • \n
  • Confidence using hand tools
  • \n
  • The ability to follow engineering drawings and technical instructions
  • \n
  • Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
  • \n
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • \n
  • The ability to organise your workload and manage multiple priorities
  • \n
  • A positive, practical and safety-conscious approach
  • \n
  • A willingness to learn and continue developing your technical skills
  • \n
\n

Previous experience working with high-voltage systems would be beneficial, but it isn’t essential.
