Shift Engineer Hours: 4 on / 4 off | 12-hour shifts | Nights Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment? We're looking for a proactive Shift Engineer to join a busy manufacturing operation where you'll play a vital role in keeping production running safely, efficiently and reliably. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and taking ownership of engineering issues from diagnosis through to resolution. The Role Working as the lead engineer on shift, you'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site. You'll work closely with production and operations teams to maximise equipment availability, minimise downtime and ensure engineering standards remain high.Key Responsibilities\n

- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime. \n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control system faults. \n
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities. \n
- Prioritise engineering work based on operational requirements and safety. \n
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system. \n
- Carry out root cause analysis and recommend permanent solutions to recurring issues. \n
- Support machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects. \n
- Ensure all engineering work is completed safely and in line with company procedures. \n
- Deliver clear shift handovers to maintain continuity between engineering teams. \n

- Experience working within a manufacturing, production or processing environment. \n
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical equipment. \n
- The ability to work independently and make informed engineering decisions. \n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills. \n
- A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. \n
- Experience using planned preventative maintenance systems. \n

- Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled). \n
- 18th Edition, IOSH, NEBOSH or similar qualifications. \n
- Experience working with automated production machinery or conveyor systems. \n
