Job Title: SME Account Handler

Location: Burgess Hill, with optional London office exposure

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Role Summary:

This is an opportunity for an experienced SME Account Handler to join a busy and established commercial insurance team in Burgess Hill. You will take ownership of an existing book of clients, manage a high volume of incoming work and provide a responsive, phone-first service.

The role is based in the Burgess Hill office. There may also be opportunities to spend time in the London office for those who would value wider exposure, but this is not a hybrid-working position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage an established SME client book: Build strong client relationships and help maintain the team’s high retention levels
\n
• Handle commercial renewals: Review client requirements, obtain terms and support clients throughout the renewal process
\n
• Process mid-term adjustments: Ensure policy changes are completed accurately and communicated clearly
\n
• Manage work from a central inbox: Take ownership of renewals, client letters, terms and servicing requests
\n
• Maintain a phone-first approach: Resolve client enquiries efficiently and provide accessible, personal support
\n
• Prioritise your own workload: Manage a high volume of activity while meeting deadlines and service expectations
\n

Requirements:

• Recent commercial insurance account-handling experience
\n
• Strong knowledge of commercial combined insurance
\n
• Experience handling property owners’ insurance
\n
• Confidence managing renewals, mid-term adjustments and policy documentation
\n
• Ability to manage a busy workload with limited supervision
\n
• Acturis experience would be advantageous
\n
