ESG Compliance Manager
Job Description
Our client is a family run business, with an amazing product and a customer centric approach. They have stores in the UK and a rapidly growing online, International and concessions business. They really care about people, customers, and the communities in which they trade and are now looking for an ESG Compliance Manager. The role will be hybrid, with three days per week based out of their Amersham Head office, and two days per week working from home.
\nThe ESG Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the development, governance and delivery of the company’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance strategy, ensuring that regulatory obligations, sustainability commitments and responsible business standards are embedded across brand and group-level activity. The role provides strategic direction, executive-level assurance and clear governance over ESG compliance, environmental reporting and emerging regulatory requirements. As ESG Compliance Manager are responsible for setting the ESG compliance roadmap, leading cross-functional delivery and advising senior leaders on legislative, regulatory and industry developments. You’ll also analyse and report on all results, ensuring the company meets its ESG, environmental and responsible business commitments.
\nESG Compliance Manager – Responsibilities
\n-Coordinate delivery of the ESG programme in line with business priorities.
\n- Develop and maintain the ESG roadmap, tracking progress and reporting to senior leadership.
\n- Facilitate cross-functional ESG working groups and support delivery of agreed actions.
\n- Coordinate ESG data collection, validation, and reporting for internal and external requirements.
\n- Identify ESG risks and dependencies, supporting mitigation actions.
\n- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry changes relevant to the business.
\n- Assess the impact of regulatory changes and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
\n- Coordinate cross-functional reviews and support implementation of compliance changes.
\n- Maintain horizon scanning and compliance tracking processes.
\n- Manage compliance reporting obligations, including WEEE, Batteries, Packaging, and EPR.
\nESG Compliance Manager – Required Skills
\n- Degree or equivalent experience in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Project Management, Quality, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
\n- Demonstrable experience of 3 years in ESG, sustainability, compliance, regulatory affairs, project management, or a related role within consumer products, manufacturing, or retail.
\n- Experience of leading or supporting sustainability strategies and managing change initiatives.
\n- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and with external partners.
\n- Up-to-date knowledge of sustainability issues, ESG frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
\n- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneDrive, with confidence using reporting, tracking and governance tools.
\n- Analytical approach with strong reporting capabilities.
