Contact Worker (Children & Families)

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Contact Worker to support children and families by supervising contact sessions and ensuring a safe, positive environment for children during family interactions. This role would suit candidates with experience working with children, families, safeguarding, youth services, family support, or children's social care.

  • Location: Brent, HA9
  • \n
  • Pay Rate: £17.85 per hour PAYE
  • \n
  • Working Pattern: Flexible shift work, Monday to Saturday between 8:00am and 6:30pm, based on service needs
  • \n
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • \n

Key Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Supervising contact sessions between children and their parents, carers, and family members
  • \n
  • Ensuring children remain safe from emotional and physical harm during contact sessions
  • \n
  • Observing interactions and producing accurate reports suitable for court proceedings and case records
  • \n
  • Supporting positive family contact and intervening where safeguarding concerns arise
  • \n
  • Transporting or escorting children to and from contact sessions when required
  • \n
  • Working closely with Social Workers and other professionals to support children's welfare
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing reports using internal IT systems
  • \n
  • Attending meetings, reviews, and training as required
  • \n

Requirements:

    \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for business use
  • \n
  • Experience working with children, young people, or families within a statutory or voluntary setting
  • \n
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and children's welfare issues
  • \n
  • Strong observation, report writing, and communication skills
  • \n
  • Ability to build professional relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • \n
  • Comfortable working independently and handling challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • \n
  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records
  • \n
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • \n
