Working within the Operational Finance team, you will support operational stakeholders by providing financial insight, performance reporting and budgetary analysis across a significant area of the business. Acting as a trusted finance partner, you will help drive informed decision-making through accurate reporting and commercial analysis. This role provides valuable exposure to management accounting, financial dashboards, performance reporting and stakeholder engagement, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a fast-paced operational environment. Key Responsibilities • Partner with operational teams to monitor, analyse and report on expenditure and business performance. • Act as the primary finance contact for designated operational areas and cost centres. • Support the development and enhancement of financial dashboards and Power BI reporting, delivering meaningful insight to stakeholders. • Prepare monthly management accounts, including budget tracking, variance analysis and performance reporting. • Ensure month-end activities are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines. • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring appropriate controls are in place. • Monitor work-in-progress balances and collaborate with operational teams to ensure accurate reporting. • Conduct regular financial reviews with stakeholders, identifying risks, opportunities and budget variances. • Prepare and coordinate customer billing and revenue reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. • Support business improvement initiatives, projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required. The Ideal candidate would possess • Previous experience within a finance, accounting or commercial finance role. • Studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a recognised professional accountancy qualification (study support available). • Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data. • Good overall IT literacy and experience using financial and reporting systems. • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Proactive and analytical mindset with strong attention to detail. • Demonstrable commitment to driving process improvements and enhancing ways of working.
