Senior Buyer

As a Senior Buyer in the FMCG industry, based in Oxford, you'll be responsible for managing procurement activities and supplier relationships to ensure the smooth running of operations. This role plays a vital part in both strategic sourcing initiatives and day-to-day purchasing operations.

Description

As Senior Buyer you will report into the Head of Procurement. Duties will include, however, not be limited to:

• Manage procurement activities across a range of indirect categories.
\n
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure optimal terms and service levels.
\n
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
\n
• Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
\n
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to meet both quality and budget requirements.
\n
• Analyse data to evaluate procurement performance and make informed decisions.
\n
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities.
\n

Profile

A successful Senior Buyer should have:

• Proven experience in procurement across indirect categories.
\n
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills to manage supplier contracts effectively.
\n
• A solid understanding of procurement processes and market trends.
\n
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
\n
• Be immediately available or on a reduced notice period.

Job Offer

• Salary range of £55,000 - £65,000 dependent on the level of experience.
\n
• Fixed-term contract with potential for longer term progression.
