\nOur client is a specialist professional services firm supporting organisations within the charity and not-for-profit sector. The team focuses on providing high-quality financial reporting and compliance services to help clients meet their regulatory obligations.
\n\nThe Role:
\nOn behalf of our client, we are seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their Weston-super-Mare office. This is a key role overseeing a growing portfolio of clients and ensuring the delivery of accurate accounts and tax services.
\nReporting to senior leadership, the role combines client-facing responsibilities with team leadership, mentorship, and compliance oversight. It is well suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, developing others, and maintaining high standards of service.
\nResponsibilities will include:
\n• Manage and develop a growing portfolio of clients.
\n• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular meetings and ongoing support.
\n• Prepare and analyse accounts for a variety of clients.
\n• Supervise, mentor, and support team members, ensuring effective workload management and professional development.
\n• Review accounts prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback.
\n• Assist with tax computations, including adjusted profit calculations and capital allowance claims.
\n• Prepare tax returns using specialist software and calculate client tax liabilities.
\n• Provide accounts, tax, and business advice to clients as required.
\n• Oversee the completion of statutory and compliance-related forms, including P11Ds and VAT returns.
\n• Use Microsoft Excel for analysis, forecasting, and scheduling activities.

\nThe ideal candidate is enthusiastic, proactive, and takes pride in delivering high-standard work while building positive relationships. They are an effective communicator with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently within a supportive team.

- Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment. \n
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation. \n
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. \n
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team. \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software , including Digita, Xero, and QuickBooks, would be advantageous. \n
- Relevant professional qualifications include AAT, ATT, ACCA, ACA, CTA, or equivalent. \n
- Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is fully supported and funded by the practice. \n
The Salary:
\n£45-55,000
\n\nThe Hours:
\n9am – 5pm Monday – Friday
