HR Assistant (Generalist) – Part-Time (3 Days Office-Based)

Working Pattern: Part-time, 3 days per week office-based

Salary: £55,000–£65,000 pro rata + Benefits (depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

\n

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Generalist to join a prestigious Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) Family Office based in Mayfair.

\n

Working closely with the Chief of Staff, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of a first-class HR service across the full employee lifecycle. As a trusted partner to the Chief of Staff, you will provide hands-on HR support, ensure smooth day-to-day people operations, and contribute to the continued development of a high-performing, professional, and people-focused private office environment.

This is a broad and varied part-time role offering genuine ownership, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to work closely with leadership on HR operations, employee experience, and process improvement initiatives.

\n

The successful candidate will be highly organised, discreet, and proactive, with the confidence to operate in an environment where professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail are paramount. They will enjoy working closely with a senior leader, anticipating needs, providing practical HR solutions, and ensuring the highest standards of support are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Chief of Staff to support all aspects of HR operations and employee matters across the private office.
  • \n
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for HR-related queries, providing professional, timely, and confidential support to employees and leadership.
  • \n
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle.
  • \n
  • Lead the onboarding process, ensuring a seamless and personalised experience for new joiners.
  • \n
  • Support employee relations matters, including preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and maintaining accurate records.
  • \n
  • Maintain HR systems and employee records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • \n
  • Coordinate recruitment activity in partnership with the Chief of Staff and hiring managers, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and recruitment administration.
  • \n
  • Produce regular HR reports and assist the Chief of Staff with people data analysis and reporting.
  • \n
  • Support performance review cycles, learning and development initiatives, and wider HR processes.
  • \n
  • Assist with the review and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and process improvements.
  • \n
  • Support HR projects that enhance employee experience, operational efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of the private office.

About You

\n
    \n
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an HR Assistant, HR Advisor, or HR Generalist position.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle and core HR processes.
  • \n
  • Previous experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations.
  • \n
  • Comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted HR partner.
  • \n
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities independently.
  • \n
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • \n
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving, discreet, and ever-changing environment.
  • \n
  • Naturally confidential and professional, with experience handling sensitive information.
  • \n
  • A solutions-focused mindset with a passion for improving processes and delivering an exceptional employee experience.

Skills & Experience

\n
    \n
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • \n
  • Experience using HRIS platforms such as Workday or similar systems.
  • \n
  • Strong HR administration, reporting, and recruitment coordination experience.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of UK employment practices and HR best practice.
  • \n
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • \n
