The Stephen James Partnership
London, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

Banking Lawyers – Transaction Management Opportunities

\n

\n

Are you a Banking & Finance lawyer looking to move closer to the business and play a more commercial role in the execution of complex lending transactions?

\n

\n

I'm currently speaking with a number of leading financial institutions that are looking to hire into their Transaction Management teams over the coming weeks. These opportunities offer banking lawyers the chance to step away from purely legal advisory work and become embedded within the deal process, partnering directly with front-office teams on the execution of complex financing transactions.

\n

\n

Working closely with Relationship Managers, Debt Finance, Credit and Legal teams, you'll take ownership of the documentation process from structuring through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for both internal stakeholders and external counsel.

\n

\n

Depending on the organisation, responsibilities are likely to include:

\n
    \n
  • Leading the documentation process across bilateral and syndicated lending transactions.
  • \n
  • Negotiating and agreeing term sheets, facility agreements, intercreditor agreements and other finance documentation.
  • \n
  • Advising on transaction structuring and identifying legal and commercial risks.
  • \n
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for external legal counsel throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • \n
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to drive transactions through to successful execution.
  • \n
  • Managing multiple transactions simultaneously while balancing commercial, legal and regulatory considerations.
  • \n
\n

\n

Who We're Looking For

\n

We're keen to speak with lawyers who have:

\n
    \n
  • A strong Banking & Finance background with experience advising on corporate lending transactions.
  • \n
  • Experience working on bilateral and/or syndicated lending transactions.
  • \n
  • A good understanding of LMA documentation and the UK corporate lending market.
  • \n
  • Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to work directly with business stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • \n
\n

\n

Whether you're currently in private practice or already in-house, these roles will suit lawyers looking to broaden their experience, gain greater commercial exposure and become more closely involved in the execution and management of transactions.

\n

\n

What's on Offer

\n
    \n
  • Opportunities with a number of leading banks and financial institutions.
  • \n
  • The chance to move into a genuinely commercial, business-facing role.
  • \n
  • Exposure to complex, high-value financing transactions across a range of sectors.
  • \n
  • Competitive remuneration packages and flexible hybrid working.
  • \n
  • Excellent long-term career prospects within growing Transaction Management teams.
  • \n
