Recruitment is proud to be supporting our client, a leader in the Food industry, in their search for a Maintenance Manager who wants to move beyond reactive fixes and build a maintenance function that's planned, reliable, and respected across the business.Job Title: Maintenance ManagerLocation: Burton on TrentReporting to : Head of EngineeringSalary: £65,000Hours: Monday - Friday - 7.30 - 16.30 - Flexibility required in line with business needsThis is a key leadership role in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment where engineering performance directly impacts production. You'll be trusted to lead the function, shape the strategy, and raise standards across the board.This isn't a firefighting role. It's a chance to take control of how a site runs..What you'll be responsible for:Leading all maintenance activity across site, with a clear focus on reliability and uptimeBuilding and delivering a strong PPM strategy that reduces unplanned downtimeManaging and developing a team of Engineering Shift Managers and engineersDriving performance through KPIs like downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and PPM completionImplementing root cause analysis and fixing recurring issues properlyOverseeing all maintenance delivery including fault finding, repairs, and upgradesManaging CMMS systems, maintenance records, and spare parts effectivelyEnsuring Health & Safety, food safety, and audit standards are consistently metWorking closely with Production and other teams to keep the site running smoothlyLeading continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operationsWhat matters in this role:You've led maintenance in a Manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG or foodYou understand how to balance planned vs reactive maintenanceYou're comfortable using data to drive decisions and improvementsYou can lead a team, set standards, and hold people accountableYou know how to operate in a regulated, high-compliance environmentYou're organised, practical, and able to prioritise in a fast-moving siteWhat you'll bring:Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification (BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent)Strong Leadership and a continuous improvement mindsetStrong Health & Safety knowledge (IOSH or NEBOSH preferred)Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planningSolid understanding of engineering principles and technical drawingsDesirable:Experience with food processing or packaging equipmentBackground in projects, budgets, or capital investmentExperience driving change and improving site performanceWhat's on offer:25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays4x life assurancePension (3% employer / 5% employee)K.A.G.
