Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Benefits

The Opportunity

Robert Half is partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed business to recruit a Senior Finance Manager based in East Lancashire.

\n

This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercially driven organisation that is investing heavily in its finance function as part of its next phase of growth. Working closely with the Group Finance Director and CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function for a significant trading division, playing a key role in strengthening financial reporting, improving controls and supporting operational decision-making.

\n

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to step into a broad leadership role with genuine progression towards Financial Controller.

The Role

\n

Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial reporting while partnering with operational stakeholders across the business.

\n

Working in a fast-paced, sales-led environment, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial information, driving process improvements and supporting the wider leadership team with commercial insight.

\n

You'll also work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple UK locations as part of a well-supported Group Finance function.

\n

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end monthly management accounts process.
  • \n
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, management information and detailed financial commentary.
  • \n
  • Produce flash reporting and month-end reporting packs.
  • \n
  • Complete journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Review and authorise supplier payments.
  • \n
  • Oversee payroll processes.
  • \n
  • Manage and support the local finance team while overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
  • \n
  • Act as the primary finance contact for operational stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support commercial decision-making.
  • \n
  • Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting.
  • \n
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • \n
  • Develop and enhance financial reporting to meet evolving stakeholder requirements.
  • \n
  • Identify and implement improvements to financial controls, reporting and processes.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with finance teams across multiple UK locations.
  • \n

About You

\n

We're looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

\n

You'll be confident communicating with senior stakeholders, capable of influencing strong personalities and comfortable balancing operational support with robust financial control.

\n

You'll ideally have:

\n
    \n
  • QBE or Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • \n
  • Strong experience producing end-to-end management accounts.
  • \n
  • Excellent month-end reporting experience.
  • \n
  • Experience preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • \n
  • Strong Excel skills
  • \n
  • Experience using Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP system.
  • \n
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • A proactive, positive and hands-on approach.
  • \n
