Senior Design Engineer

Thrive Trowbridge are delighted to be working with our client near Chippenham area who are actively looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.This key role will take responsibility for engineering projects, providing technical leadership across NPD, prototype validation and manufacturing support, and ensures products are delivered in line with customer specifications, on time and within budget.What you will be doing:Design, develop and deliver a range of complex mechanical and hydraulic systems from concept to productionInterpret customer requirements and technical specifications and develop practical engineering solutions within agreed cost and performance parametersProduce accurate 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and Bills of Materials, considering functionality, safety, manufacturability and aestheticsCarry out engineering calculations covering structural loading, stress considerations, material selection and manufacturabilityProject management from initial brief through to manufacturingSupport and mentor team membersWhat you will need to succeed:Experience of hydraulic circuit design, system calculations and design of welded fabrications and machined componentsGeometric dimensioning and tolerancing and the production of manufacturing drawingsBills of Materials management within an ERP system, ideally OdooExcellent IT skills including 3D CAD and Autodesk InventorA good eye for detail and the ability to solve problemsExcellent communication skills as you will be dealing with a variety of individualsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentWhat you will receive in return:Competitive salaryFull time Monday to Friday including early finish on a Friday!The opportunity to join a progressive and innovative company with a diverse product portfolioCareer development opportunities*Please note 100% office based*What you need to do next:If you are interested in being considered for this position, please email sarah.collins@ thrivegroup.co.ukThrive are acting as an employment business in relationship to this vacancy.If you have not heard from a consultant within 7 days, please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.PRMSTHTPBN1_UKTJ
