Andy Thornton's Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Fabricator to join our Architectural Metalwork Department.
\n\n
Reporting directly to the Workshop Supervisors, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality bespoke architectural metalwork for a wide range of commercial and residential projects. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can work using their own initiative, think ahead, and confidently interpret drawings to produce work to a consistently high standard.

Working within our modern fabrication workshop, you will manufacture bespoke steelwork and architectural metalwork, contributing to a wide variety of interesting projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
\n\n
- \n
- Fabricate bespoke architectural metalwork from engineering and fabrication drawings. \n
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, specifications, and technical information. \n
- Measure, cut, prepare and assemble steel components accurately. \n
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding and general fabrication to a high standard. \n
- Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely and effectively. \n
- Work independently and use your own initiative to complete work efficiently and accurately. \n
- Identify potential issues and implement practical solutions where appropriate. \n
- Carry out quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure work meets company standards. \n
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment. \n
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality procedures and health & safety requirements. \n
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production schedules and project deadlines. \n

Essential Skills & Experience
\n\n
- \n
- Previous experience as a Fabricator within a metalwork, steelwork, or manufacturing environment. \n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings. \n
- Competent MIG and TIG welding skills. \n
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. \n
- A proactive, forward-thinking approach with strong problem-solving abilities. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. \n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively. \n
- Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards. \n
- Good understanding of health and safety within a fabrication workshop. \n

Desirable Skills & Experience
\n\n
- \n
- Experience fabricating bespoke or architectural metalwork. \n
- Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium. \n
- Experience using workshop machinery such as bandsaws, pillar drills and other fabrication equipment. \n
- Forklift or overhead crane experience (training can be provided if required). \n
