HR Administrator
Job Description
Thrive on variety, systems and solving problems? Build broad HR experience in a lively consultancy where no two clients or working days are the same.
\nHR Administrator
\nWetherby, LS22 5DZ
\n£26,000 to £30,000, depending on experience
\nFull time, permanent
\n9am to 5pm
\nHybrid working from week one, with Mondays and Fridays normally working from home
\nSome HR Administrator roles involve supporting one company, using one system and following one familiar set of processes.
\nThis is not one of those roles.
\nAt HR180, we are more than an outsourced HR provider. We work as a genuine partner to our clients, which means understanding how each business works and adapting our support accordingly.
\nAn offer letter for one client might be sent through Adobe Sign. Another may need to be checked by a manager first. For another client, it could be uploaded and issued through their own HR system.
\nThe task may sound familiar, but the process behind it often will not be.
\nFor the right person, that is exactly what makes this role so rewarding. You will gain broad, practical HR experience, work alongside experienced HR professionals and learn how different organisations manage every stage of the employee journey.
\nWhat You Will Be Doing
\nYou will provide essential administrative support to our HR Advisors and Partners, helping them deliver a responsive and professional service to our clients.
\nYour responsibilities will include:
\n- \n
- Preparing contracts, offer letters and new starter documents \n
- Managing leavers, probation reviews, references and right to work checks \n
- Organising hearings, meetings and interviews \n
- Taking accurate notes and preparing follow up correspondence \n
- Supporting disciplinary, grievance, maternity, absence and other employee relations processes \n
- Maintaining accurate records across several client HR systems \n
- Monitoring tasks, deadlines and outstanding actions \n
- Assisting with payroll preparation and reporting \n
- Supporting the onboarding of new clients \n
- Helping to organise training sessions and materials \n
- Contributing to projects and process improvements \n
- Supporting our monthly networking event and wider office activities \n
You may move between several clients, systems and priorities during the same day, so keeping track of the detail is essential.
\nWhat Makes This Role Different?
\nThe complexity does not come from one individual task. It comes from knowing how that task should be completed for each client.
\nYou will need to learn different systems, templates, approval processes and service expectations. You will also need to understand which actions you can complete independently, when something needs checking and how to prioritise when several clients need support at once.
\nYou will not be expected to know everything on your first day.
\nWe are a team where people do not wait to be told, everyone takes responsibility and everyone has a voice. You will have plenty of support while you learn, but as your confidence grows, we will trust you to think, take ownership and get things moving.
\nThe Person We Are Looking For
\nYou will probably enjoy this role if you:
\n- \n
- Like variety and are energised by a busy working day \n
- Learn new systems and processes confidently \n
- Can switch between tasks without losing important details \n
- Enjoy solving problems rather than waiting for every step to be explained \n
- Take ownership and follow things through properly \n
- Can prioritise calmly when several things need attention \n
- Communicate professionally and confidently \n
- Know when to act independently and when to ask for guidance \n
- Care about accuracy and confidentiality \n
- Bring personality, resilience and a good sense of humour. HR180 even lists gallows humour as one of its six things to know about the team! \n
Previous HR experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
\nYou may also have developed the right skills within recruitment, payroll, legal services, financial services, accountancy, consultancy, client support, executive assistance or another complex administration environment.
\nYour ability to learn, adapt, organise and take responsibility is more important than having completed every HR task before.
\nWhy Join HR180?
\nWe are a friendly, down to earth and ambitious HR consultancy with a big mission: to be an example of how a workplace can feel and act.
\nWe work as genuine partners to our clients and we have built a culture where people take responsibility, contribute ideas and do not wait to be told what to do.
\nYou can expect:
\n- \n
- £26,000 to £30,000, depending on experience \n
- 9am to 5pm working hours \n
- Hybrid working from week one, with Mondays and Fridays normally working from home \n
- 23 days holiday, increasing with length of service \n
- Workplace pension with The People’s Pension \n
- Free parking at our Wetherby office \n
- Hands on training and support from experienced HR professionals \n
- Broad exposure to different clients, industries and HR situations \n
- Genuine opportunities for internal progression \n
- Regular team socials, from quiz nights and takeaways to pizza making \n
- Monthly team breakfasts \n
- Regular visits from the office dogs \n
- Opportunities to get involved in charity fundraising \n
- A workplace where personality, ideas and a good sense of humour are very welcome \n
HR180 has a strong history of developing people internally and looks within the team for progression opportunities before recruiting externally.
\nThis opportunity will particularly suit someone who enjoys variety, learns quickly and feels comfortable taking ownership once trained. It is less likely to suit someone looking for one predictable routine or a slower paced administration role.
\nIf you enjoy responsibility and the satisfaction of keeping complex work beautifully organised, we would love to hear from you.
