Engineering Team Leader

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to lead a maintenance team within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for delivering preventative and reactive maintenance, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime and driving continuous improvement across production operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers.
\n
• Coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
\n
• Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Manage CMMS, spare parts, and engineering stores.
\n
• Monitor engineering KPIs, including uptime, maintenance compliance, and cost control.
\n
• Work closely with production teams to maximise operational performance.
\n
• Lead shutdown activities, projects, and contractor management.
\n
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and technical standards.
\n
• Support new product introductions and equipment trials.
\n

Requirements

\n
• Previous experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, chilled food production, or another fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\n
• Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
\n
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
\n
• Knowledge of health & safety and engineering best practices.
\n
