Role: Claims Handler - Defendant Personal Injury (EL/PL) Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid Salary: £28,000 - £32,000CRA Consulting is pleased to be working alongside a well-established national law firm to recruit a Claims Handler into its expanding Defendant Personal Injury department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm with a strong reputation within the insurance sector, acting on behalf of insurer and commercial clients across a broad range of personal injury matters. The Opportunity\nYou'll take ownership of a caseload of defendant Employer's Liability and Public Liability claims, managing matters from initial instruction through to settlement. Working closely with colleagues and clients, you'll ensure claims are progressed efficiently, balancing excellent client service with commercial outcomes. Key responsibilities will include:

- Managing a varied caseload of defendant EL and PL claims through the MOJ Claims Portal. \n
- Investigating liability and quantum by reviewing evidence, medical reports and supporting documentation. \n
- Maintaining regular contact with insurer clients, claimant representatives, experts and other key stakeholders. \n
- Negotiating settlements and identifying opportunities to achieve commercially favourable outcomes. \n
- Pursuing recovery actions where appropriate. \n
- Maintaining accurate case records, financial reserves and risk assessments. \n
- Ensuring compliance with client protocols, regulatory requirements and internal quality standards. \n
- Contributing positively to team objectives while consistently meeting individual performance targets. \n
Applications are welcomed from experienced Defendant Personal Injury Claims Handlers who enjoy managing their own caseload and working within a fast-paced environment. To be successful, you'll ideally have:

- Experience handling defendant EL and/or PL claims. \n
- Confidence using the MOJ Claims Portal. \n
- A solid understanding of liability, quantum and the personal injury claims process. \n
- Strong negotiation and communication skills. \n
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail. \n
- A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a high standard of service. \n
Candidates with a background in defendant RTA claims who are keen to develop their expertise within Employer's Liability and Public Liability work are also encouraged to apply.
