About the Role

\n

We are looking for an experienced Contractor Safety and Compliance Co-Ordinator to help ensure all contractor work is carried out safely, legally and to the highest standards.

\n

This is a health and safety focused role where you will coordinate contractors, produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), manage Permit to Work processes, and ensure all contractor activities comply with company policies and UK Health & Safety legislation.

\n

Working closely with Facilities Management, Engineering teams and contractors, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment while supporting the delivery of maintenance and project work across site.

\n

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Write, review and update Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for maintenance and contractor activities.
  • \n
  • Manage the Permit to Work process, ensuring all work is authorised before it begins.
  • \n
  • Review contractor documentation, including RAMS, insurance certificates, training records and competency information.
  • \n
  • Ensure contractors comply with company policies, Health & Safety legislation and site procedures.
  • \n
  • Carry out contractor inductions, inspections and compliance audits.
  • \n
  • Monitor contractor performance and address any safety or compliance issues.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Facilities, Engineering and Health & Safety teams to safely plan maintenance activities.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records of contractor documentation, permits and compliance information.
  • \n
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and non-compliance, recommending improvements where required.
  • \n
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.
  • \n
  • Support continuous improvement of contractor management processes and safety standards.
  • \n

What We're Looking For

\n

Essential

\n
    \n
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification).
  • \n
  • Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Construction or a contractor management role.
  • \n
  • Experience writing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • \n
  • Good understanding of Permit to Work systems.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
  • \n
  • Experience working in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) environments.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Confident communicator who can influence others and challenge unsafe working practices.
  • \n
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • \n

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • \n
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
  • \n
  • Experience carrying out contractor audits and compliance inspections.
  • \n
  • Experience using CAFM systems.
  • \n
\n
