HGV Driver Class 1 (Steel Logistics) x 2Murray Steel Products is one of the UKs leading stockists of commercial-grade steel plate, profiles, and structural sections.We are expanding our operations team and have immediate openings for two permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to support our busy depots in Middlesbrough and Sheffield.The successful candidate will be expected to deliver steel products in line with the agreed load plan and customer requirements in a safe and efficient manner.Locations: Middlesbrough & Sheffield (Permanent, Site-Based)Pay Rate: £15.00 per hour + Generous Overtime & Overnight Allowance, Average annual earnings up to £53,683.00.Benefits: 33 Days Holiday (25 days + 8 bank holidays), Company Pension, Free On-site ParkingWhat You Will DoSafe Transport: Deliver steel products safely and efficiently in line with scheduled load plans and customer timelines.Load Security: Take full responsibility for vehicle weight distribution, ensuring wide and flatbed loads are legally compliant and chained down securely.Operations: On occasions, assist in the loading of outbound vehicles in order of delivery priority, ensuring material is loaded and secured safely. On-site trailer shunting.Route Efficiency: Collaborate closely with our load planner to optimize delivery routes, drops, mileage, and fuel economy.Compliance: Maintain accurate digital tachograph logs within driver hours regulations and perform routine daily vehicle safety/defect checks. Work in accordance with standard works and Health and Safety procedures always.What We Are Looking ForLicences: A valid, UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driver's licence.Qualifications: Current Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph card.Experience: A proven history working within a steel environment will be an advantage and experience of using overhead cranes, side loaders and forklift trucks to safely move material would be advantageous.Skills: Knowledge of strapping, chaining, and securing wide loads on flatbed trailers.Bonus Assets: Existing FLT, side loader, or overhead crane certificates are a major advantage (though training can be provided).Benefits Package25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (33 days total)Overtime rates available & overnight subsistence allowanceSecure company pension schemeTPBN1_UKTJ
