Potensis Selection are partnering with a respected residential housebuilder to recruit an Adoptions Engineer to join their expanding Technical team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the successful adoption of infrastructure across a range of residential developments. You'll work closely with both internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure infrastructure is delivered and adopted efficiently, while benefiting from a supportive team environment and genuine opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the infrastructure adoption process for residential developments, including highways, drainage, utilities, and public open spaces, ensuring timely completion with the relevant authorities.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate adoption programmes for both existing and new developments, monitoring progress throughout the lifecycle of each project.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with local authorities, utility providers, consultants, and internal teams to facilitate a smooth and efficient adoption process.
  • \n
  • Track adoption-related bonds, identify potential risks or overruns, and work alongside senior technical staff to implement effective solutions.
  • \n
  • Support technical, commercial, and construction teams by coordinating the information, inspections, and remedial works required to achieve final approvals and adoption.
  • \n
  • Review technical documentation including drawings, surveys, test results, and engineering reports to assist with practical completion, certification, and final vesting of infrastructure.

About You

\n
    \n
  • A qualification in construction, civil engineering, or a related discipline, or a minimum of five years' relevant industry experience.
  • \n
  • Sound understanding of the legal and technical requirements associated with the adoption of highways, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • \n
  • Good working knowledge of current Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and highways and drainage legislation.
  • \n
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • \n
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
