Our client is a globally recognised organisation with operations across North America, Europe and Asia. Due to continued international growth, they are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a key role within an international business, working closely with global stakeholders and supporting financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The Opportunity Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards, supporting statutory requirements, and partnering with colleagues across multiple international locations. Key Responsibilities \n

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • \n
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • \n
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • \n
  • Support the annual external audit process and liaise with auditors.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Partner with finance teams across international locations to ensure consistent reporting standards.
  • \n
  • Analyse financial performance and provide insightful commentary to senior management.
  • \n
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • \n
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with FP&A, Tax, Treasury and wider finance teams on strategic projects.
  • \n
  • Keep up to date with changes to US GAAP and advise on their impact across the business.
  • \n
Candidate Profile Our client is looking for an experienced finance professional with:\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or international equivalent).
  • \n
  • Proven experience preparing financial statements under US GAAP.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
  • \n
  • Previous experience working within an international or multinational organisation.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP systems (such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite or similar).
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • \n
  • A proactive, organised approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • \n
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • \n
Desirable Experience \n
    \n
  • SEC reporting exposure.
  • \n
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of IFRS and the ability to reconcile differences between IFRS and US GAAP.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting finance transformation or ERP implementation projects.
  • \n
