Estimating Engineer

We're looking for a detail-focused Estimating Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business, putting together accurate, competitive quotations for engineering and subcontract manufacturing work.

You'll sit between Sales and Engineering, making sure customer proposals can actually be made, are costed correctly, and are ready for production.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you'll review customer enquiries, drawings, and specifications to work out what's involved in manufacturing them, then put together well-costed quotes. You'll work closely with Sales and other departments to make sure customer requirements are properly understood and reflected in every quote.

The Role

• Manage the estimating process from enquiry through to quotation
\n
• Review engineering drawings, CAD models, and specs to assess what's manufacturable
\n
• Put together quotes covering materials, processes, tooling, finishing, inspection, and subcontract costs
\n
• Send RFQs to approved suppliers and build their costs into customer quotes
\n
• Help with New Product Introduction; cost estimates, Bills of Materials, manufacturing routings
\n

What We're Looking For

• Strong Excel skills
\n
• An engineering or manufacturing background
\n
• A good grasp of engineering drawings, tolerances, and what's realistic to manufacture
\n
• Experience with machined or cast parts is a plus
\n
• Comfortable reading technical or quality documents
\n
