\nThe Opportunity
\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a successful food manufacturing business.
\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious engineering professional to lead a skilled engineering team, improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing site.
\nWorking closely with the Operations team, you will play a key role in maximising plant performance, reducing downtime and delivering engineering projects.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nLeadership
\n- \n
- Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers and technicians. \n
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs. \n
- Build a positive, high-performing engineering culture. \n
Engineering & Maintenance
\n- \n
- Maximise equipment reliability and production uptime. \n
- Manage planned, preventative and predictive maintenance. \n
- Lead fault finding and root cause analysis. \n
- Reduce downtime and improve engineering performance. \n
- Ensure critical spare parts are available. \n
- Manage engineering suppliers and negotiate costs. \n
Continuous Improvement
\n- \n
- Drive improvements across plant performance. \n
- Improve OEE, MTTR and maintenance efficiency. \n
- Reduce energy consumption and operating costs. \n
- Work closely with Production and Quality teams. \n
- Support sustainability initiatives across the site. \n
Capital Projects
\n- \n
- Identify opportunities for equipment improvements. \n
- Support business cases for capital investment. \n
- Manage projects from planning through to commissioning. \n
- Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget. \n
- Monitor project performance and return on investment. \n
Compliance
\n- \n
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety legislation. \n
- Maintain food safety and engineering standards. \n
- Promote a strong health and safety culture. \n
About You
\nYou'll be an experienced electrical engineering professional with previous leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
\nYou'll also have:

- Strong electrical engineering knowledge. \n
- Experience leading engineering teams. \n
- Knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance. \n
- Experience improving manufacturing performance. \n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. \n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills. \n
- Experience delivering engineering projects. \n
- A continuous improvement mindset. \n
Food manufacturing experience would be advantageous, although candidates from other fast-paced manufacturing environments are also encouraged to apply.
