Wood Machinist Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire Salary: £32,448 per annum (£16.00 per hour) Hours: 39 hours per week UK Right to Work Required - No Visa Sponsorship Are you an experienced Wood Machinist looking for a long-term career opportunity? Working Hours Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm (Summer hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm) Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm 39 hours per week About the Role As a Wood Machinist, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality wooden furniture components while maintaining exceptional workmanship and attention to detail. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing timber ready for machining. Machining wood to company standards and specifications. Operating woodworking machinery including: Panel saw Band saw Cross-cut saw Spindle moulder Mortice machine Adjusting, trimming and inspecting timber. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, instructions and job cards. Using hand tools and measuring equipment. Handling raw timber and carrying out manual handling duties. Cleaning and maintaining workshop tools and machinery. Supporting housekeeping within the workshop. Assisting other departments when required. Following all health & safety procedures and wearing PPE. About You We're looking for candidates who: Have at least 3 years' experience as a Wood Machinist or within furniture manufacturing. Have experience operating woodworking machinery, including panel saws, band saws, cross-cut saws, spindle moulders and mortice machines. Can read and interpret technical drawings and instructions. Have excellent attention to detail and good practical skills. Have good numeracy skills and experience using measuring tools. Can work safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
