Low Voltage Technician
\nPay: $27.00-$32.00/hour (Based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts with overtime opportunities available
Position Overview
\nWe are seeking a dependable and motivated Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining a wide range of low voltage systems for commercial and industrial customers. Ideal candidates have experience working with structured cabling, security systems, fire alarm systems, access control, and networking equipment, while maintaining a strong commitment to quality workmanship and job site safety.

\nResponsibilities

- Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, service, and maintain a variety of low voltage systems. \n
- Install and service: \n

- Fire Alarm Systems (Addressable & Conventional) \n
- Burglar/Intrusion Alarm Systems \n
- IP and Analog Video Surveillance (CCTV) \n
- Electronic Access Control Systems \n
- Nurse Call Systems \n
- Audio/Visual and Paging Systems \n
- Structured Voice & Data Cabling \n
- Fiber Optic Cabling \n
- Telephone Systems \n
- Network Infrastructure Equipment \n
\n - Pull, label, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling according to industry standards. \n
- Install cable pathways including conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and supports. \n
- Program and configure system components as required. \n
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, riser diagrams, and wiring schematics. \n
- Perform system start-up, testing, commissioning, and customer demonstrations. \n
- Troubleshoot installation issues and perform repairs to ensure systems operate properly and meet manufacturer specifications. \n
- Verify all installations comply with applicable local, state, federal, and insurance codes. \n
- Complete service calls, preventative maintenance, upgrades, and repairs efficiently and professionally. \n
- Document work performed and maintain accurate service records. \n
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members throughout each project. \n
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean and safe working condition. \n
- Keep job sites organized, clean, and professional at all times. \n
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment. \n
Qualifications
\n- \n
- Previous experience installing or servicing low voltage systems preferred. \n
- Familiarity with electrical wiring methods, conduit installation, and basic electrical tools. \n
- Understanding of structured cabling standards and cable management practices. \n
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts including switches, routers, IP addressing, and connected devices. \n
- Experience with fiber optic installation and termination is a plus. \n
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. \n
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications. \n
- Familiarity with Windows PC setup, software installation, and network-connected devices. \n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. \n
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. \n
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. \n
- Strong communication and customer service skills. \n
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred. \n
- High School Diploma or GED required. \n
Physical Requirements
\n- \n
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. \n
- Work on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms. \n
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces when necessary. \n
- Pull cable over extended distances and perform repetitive physical tasks. \n
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions depending on the project. \n
