Discover a Day in the Life of a Med-Surg RN:Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is accountable for the practice of Professional Nursing, which includes patient care and the management of staff assigned to their care.
• May take on the responsibilities of Charge Nurse, ensuring accountability for professional practice.
• Follows established policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain compliance and ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

Essential Job Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma.
• Current NM Nursing license or NM compact license (to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• BLS certification must be acquired within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role, prior to delivering direct patient care.
• Department may also require ACLS or PALS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Two years of experience in the specialty area.
• Two years of general nursing experience.
