Pipefitter

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Pipefitters for projects located in or around Newport News, VA. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $35/hour based on experience plus $140/per diem to Travelers 75+ miles from the Jobsite. Job Scope:

\n
• Remove, repair, target, lay out, fabricate, install, and test marine piping systems onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization
\n
• Install various types and sizes of pipes, supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications
\n
• Plan installations and repairs to avoid obstructions and interference with other trades
\n
• Repair and replace shipboard piping systems including auxiliary salt water, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, compressed air, fuel oil, lube oil, and engine exhaust systems
\n
• Use shop equipment including table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, and brazing equipment
\n
• Bend, cut, thread, shape, fabricate, and install pipe according to job specifications
\n
• Conduct pressure testing of piping installations
\n
• Check and adjust controls, gauges, and valves to achieve proper flow and pressure
\n

Requirements:

\n
• Three or more years of experience as a Marine, Commercial Nuclear, or Petro/Chem First Class Pipefitter
\n
• Experience with pipe fabrication, installation, repair, and testing
\n
• Ability to read and work from specifications and drawings
\n
• Experience using pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, and brazing equipment
\n
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
\n
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
\n
• Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test
\n
