Location: Hybrid – Manchester Office Hub (Candidates ideally based in North West England or North Wales, with regular travel to sites as required)

We are seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Manager to join a growing team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional with an appetite for career development. Currently reporting directly to senior leadership, there is significant scope for you to help shape and grow the supply chain function.

This role offers a true full-lifecycle experience, managing supply chain activities from pre-construction and groundworks right through to final project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

\n


\n
    \n
  • Strategic Procurement: Develop and oversee project-specific supply chain and tender procurement strategies to optimise pricing and minimise operational and commercial risks.
  • \n
  • Full Lifecycle Management: Manage the supply chain across the entire project lifecycle, from early pre-delivery and groundworks through to successful construction delivery.
  • \n
  • Bid & Project Support: Support bid teams during the work-winning phase by assessing supply chain risks and opportunities, and assist site commercial teams with package procurement and contract documentation.
  • \n
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Research, develop, and implement innovative supplier relationships, maintaining robust contract management and conducting quarterly performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Risk & Compliance: Manage commercial, ethical, and reputational risks while ensuring full compliance with safety and sustainable procurement strategies.
  • \n
  • Commercial Expertise: Undertake meaningful financial appraisals of supply chain responses, supporting the development of procurement financial reports.
  • \n

What We Are Looking For

\n


\n
    \n
  • Proven background in the Construction or Infrastructure sector, ideally with strong Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor experience.
  • \n
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle, particularly pre-construction and groundworks.
  • \n
  • A solid grasp of construction contracts and how they work (NEC contract experience is highly advantageous, though not essential).
  • \n
  • Highly developed market knowledge of major subcontract packages and the ability to negotiate individual terms.
  • \n
  • A degree or equivalent qualification, with Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership highly preferred.
  • \n
  • A proactive, dynamic approach—someone eager to learn, grow, and take ownership of their workload within a broader project context.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills to build collaborative relationships both internally and across the supply chain.
  • \n
  • Nuclear Sector Experience: Exposure to the nuclear sector is a strong advantage, though full on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
