Learning Support Assistant - Join an Outstanding Inclusion Team\nAn ambitious and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to appoint an exceptional Learning Support Assistant to join its thriving SEND department from September 2026.
\nThis Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine impact every day. You'll work alongside experienced teachers, the SENCO and specialist professionals to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
\nAs a Learning Support Assistant, you'll support children with a range of needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, sensory processing differences and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The role will include classroom support, one-to-one work and targeted interventions.
Your Responsibilities\nAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

- Support pupils with EHCPs both in class and during intervention sessions \n
- Deliver structured literacy, numeracy and communication interventions \n
- Promote independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviour \n
- Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs \n
- Liaise with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to review pupil progress \n
- Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment \n
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEND Support Assistant \n
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school or specialist setting \n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills \n
- A calm, resilient and proactive approach \n
- A genuine passion for inclusive education \n
Experience with Autism strategies, Makaton, PECS, sensory regulation or behaviour support plans would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
